. that was president obama. obviously in denver, saying the economic policies of mitt romney are a relapse and the president is exactly correct. romney rattled off his five-point plan last night just as he has done on the stump. energy independence, education, trade agreements, cutting the deficit and help for small businesses. the website, nextnewdeal, discovered this five-point plan, well, has been pushed before. by senator john mccain when he accepted the republican nomination four years ago. the five points were in a different order, but in the speech, exactly the same thing. there's really no real difference. four years earlier, here it is, an almost identical five-point plan was offered by president george w. bush when he was accepting the republican nomination for re-election. now, the five points were in a different order in this speech, in the actual speech. small businesses were mentioned twice. you get the picture in all of this. bush also repeatedly mentioned no child left behind even though it wasn't one of the five points. we need to see president obama dismantle romney as mo

in just a matter of hours. good morning. >> good morning. that's right. president obama will take off for denver in just a few hours. i'm told he'll have a little bit of down time with the first lady before the debate. he'll also do a walk through of the venue. here's how it's going to work. president obama will be given the first question. mitt romney will have the final word tonight. the debate will be broken up into six 15-minute segments for a 90-minute debate. it will include three on the economy, one on health care, one on governing and one on the state of government. the role of government, i should say. now, both candidates will be standing at podiums. no strict time limits. each candidate will have two minutes to answer that question and then the rest of the segment will be an open discussion about the topic at hand. so that is how the debate is going to do. aides with the obama campaign say his goal is to deliver his message in a crisp and clear manner. to not seem too long winded as sometimes he has in the past. so that's really his goal and also to make the case about why

appearance by romney since the debate in denver last night. obama had two -- one in denver at sloan lake park. the other was in madison, wisconsin. that was a big crowd there, too, the biggest of the obama campaign so far. the nielsen ratings agency says the audience last night for the debate was the biggest since 1992. 62.7 million tuned into the debate. if you did not get to see it, what we have done on our debate hub, we are looking at the candidates getting set for an interview with sean hannity. this will be on the hannity program on fox later. on the debate hub you can see the speech broken down into portions and clips from last night posing debate. the candidates are backstage. we will go back live to fishersville, virginia once the rally gets under way. we will have to live view here on c-span.
